• Mindy's Memories Primate Sanctuary  Owned and operated by Linda Barcklay, this sanctuary houses many species of primates that were former pets or have been abandoned or are no longer used in research. Dr. Maness has helped with some of their medical needs. This is a worthwhile endeavor for these long lived critters. They are not open to the public because it can be hard on the residents, but any support or donations is always welcome.
• Tiger Safari    Wildlife Sanctuary owned and managed by Bill Meadows that is located in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Dr. Maness is involved with this group's efforts, and traveled to South Africa with them in May 2007. This park is open to the public and offers educational experiences and a wide variety of species.
• Heartland Rabbit Rescue  Located in Blanchard, Oklahoma they have rabbits available for adoption as well as many rabbit stories. Rabbits make great apartment pets.
